Our mountain hideaway is situated high above the Gastein Valley on the slopes of Fulseck, at an altitude of 1,500 metres. Surrounded by forest and often above the clouds, our luxury chalet offers outstanding panoramic views of Salzburg’s ruggedly authentic mountain region. It’s the perfect setting for up to 16 guests to relax and unwind.

Like a cave that blends seamlessly into the landscape, the chalet almost encourages you to retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life: experience the uniquely calm, relaxing ambiance in the inner sanctum of our refuge – even when several guests are staying. The warm, appealing, open-plan interior combines minimalism with supreme comfort and more than a hint of luxury.

We use a limited selection of high-quality materials and avoid plastics altogether. Instead, we have chosen sustainable materials that have been minimally processed. The interior is allergy friendly and designed to minimise irritants because Bergchalet Gastein has been created as a sanctuary – a uniquely special oasis. This is a space pared back to the essentials, where contrast and external stimuli are downplayed and the mood is reassuringly soothing and calm.

Our chalet aims to provide guests with space to focus on themselves and on the wonders of nature. Unwind in our mountain hideaway and allow your gaze to wander freely over the unmatched beauty of the mountainscape before you.

Natural MAterials
and indirect Lighting

To show off nature’s panorama to best advantage, we have used loam renders in muted, earthy tones for the chalet’s interior. These naturally subdued shades, local to the area, are designed to reduce external stimuli and direct your gaze outward, into the distance. We have installed indirect lighting throughout to create a consistently relaxed atmosphere.

Our connection to nature is also reflected in our choice to leave materials in their original state: for instance, under your feet you’ll find high-quality terrazzo – a timeless, elegant flooring made from small particles of rock and sand. We use locally sourced wood (spruce, larch and ash) that has been minimally processed and simply treated with natural oils.

Feel connected to nature both inside and outside. Take a deep breath of sweet alpine air without worrying about allergens. On the walls inside, you’ll find a variety of dried alpine flowers – delicate petals in myriad colours, hay from the mountain pastures and herbs from the uplands.
